Zamakona Yards signs a construction contract with Royal Arctic Line A/S to build two ships with and the concept design will be conducted by the norwegian company Havyard.
The two vessels will replace Pajuttaat and the charter ship Vestlandia, built in 1979 and 1983 respectively.
The ships are designed to operate in northwest Greenland and have greater capacity than current ships. The ships will have the flag of Greenland and are expected to be delivered by 2020. This will alllow to Royal Arctic Line with the renewal of the vessels and accomplish an important milestone.
Zamakona Yards will build the vessels with the latest technology and with the highest standar of quailty and efficiency.

The ship Ocean Osprey is ready to serve in Norway

The ship (FSV) Ocean Osprey arrived to Scotland last week to soon begin operating in the Gannet offshore oilfields. This vessel will support the works for the Norwegian company Shell UK / Dana Petroleum.
This ship was launched successfully on the 31st of January at our facility in Pasajes (San Sebastián). The Ocean Osprey is the first ordered ship by the Norwegian shipping company Atlantic Offshore AS built by Zamakona Yards. It is expected that by the end of June 2014 their second vessel (Ocean Marlin) will be ready. It is a Havyard HY820 design.

Launching of the ship Ocean Osprey in Pasajes

Last August 21st, Zamakona Yards Group successfully completed the launching of the ship “Ocean Osprey” at its facilities in Pasajes (northern Spain). The ship is the first delivery of three that Zamakona has signed with the Norwegian shipping company Atlantic Offshore AS. The ship’s main mission will be to provide immediate attention to emergency situations on oil rigs, being specially adapted to the harsh conditions of the North Sea. There, the vessel will start operations for the oil company Shell in the beginning of 2014.
The ship under construction in Pasajes is a Field Support Vessel (FSV) with HY820 Havyard design. With an estimated price of 25 million Euros, the vessel incorporates the latest technologies including deck systems for towing operations with a pulling capacity of 65 tons. With a length of 66.80 meters and a beam of 16 meters it is able to rescue 300 people. It has 2 MAN main engines with a power of 1930 kW each.
