The “Euskadi Alai” is the construction No. 738 from the Santurce Shipyard; it is a new design project with the latest and most modern technology, built to suit the requirements of this Owner of Bermeo. This vessel will join its brothers “Izaro” and “Jai Alai” to perform fishing activities in the Indian Ocean. Like its brothers, this ship has aluminum superstructure and bridge, ultra freezing tunnels at -60 º and has safe areas with anti-piracy media.
It also has a new system of separation of caught fish that throws back to the sea the non-target fish alive with little human presence. This reaffirms the company as leader in the realization of sustainable fisheries and quality. Currently the Echebastar group is in the process of assessment of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) independent organization that certifies sustainable and well managed fisheries worldwide. It is the first Spanish tropical tuna fishery to undergo MSC full assessment.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank the Echebastar Group for their confidence in our group for the renewal of its fleet.
