Zamakona Yards has received an order from Intership AS, Norway, for a 72 m long by 17 m and 2.200 m3 wellboat for delivery in the first quarter of 2022.
Intership was established in 2014 and has experienced strong growth since its inception. Intership offers a modern fleet with innovative technology for sustainable handling, processing and transport of fish. Total fleet capacity will increase to over 13,000 m3 and 8 wellboats. The vessels are operating in Norway, Chile, Scotland, Iceland and both the East and West coast of Canada.
The new vessel will enter into a long‐term contract with the Eastern Canada branch of the world’s largest producer of Atlantic salmon Mowi ASA.
The new wellboat will be built at the facilities of Zamakona in Bilbao, based on a design from NSK Ship Design. In addition to promoting good fish health and reducing the spread of disease, the vessel will be equipped with a fully integrated reverse osmosis system and a large production capacity relative to the well volume.
The vessel will be state of the art in terms of technology and environmental friendliness solutions, with low fuel consumption and low emissions of Co2 and NOX.
The vessel has accommodations for up to 10 persons in single cabins.
ZAMAKONA YARDS Group has facilities in Santurtzi (Vizcaya), Pasajes (Guipúzcoa) and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands), with more than 41 years of experience building and repairing all types of vessels.
