En el día de hoy ha tenido lugar en las instalaciones de ZAMAKONA en Santurce la ceremonia de amadrinamiento del nuevo buque de suministro de combustible “BUNKER BREEZE” para el GRUPO SUARDIAZ.
El acontecimiento ha contado con la presencia de representantes de la compañía armadora así como varias autoridades del Gobierno Vasco, Autoridades Portuarias y Capitanía Marítima.
También han estado presentes representantes de las distintas empresas directamente involucradas en el proyecto tales como Cepsa, Bureau Veritas, etc… así como diferentes representantes del sector.
El “Bunker Breeze” tiene 86 metros de eslora por 17 de manga y un peso muerto de 5.250 toneladas. El buque cuenta con capacidad para albergar 10 tanques de carga de HFO y MDO y diseñado “ready” para poder instalar 4 tanques para suministro de gas natural licuado.
El nuevo buque de suministro de combustible “BUNKER BREEZE” para la compañía Suardiaz Energy Shipping (Grupo Suardiaz) es la tercera construcción de Zamakona para este mismo Armador.
Esta embarcación de suministro se trata de una innovadora solución que podrá cubrir todo el espectro de combustibles marinos desde los combustibles tradicionales (fuelóleos, gasóleos) hasta los más novedosos (GNL).
El Grupo Zamakona Yards dispone de instalaciones en Santurtzi (Vizcaya), Pasajes (Guipúzcoa) y Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Islas Canarias), contando con más de 41 años de experiencia en la construcción y reparación naval de todo tipo de buques.

On January 24, Zamakona Yards Group delivered the VB Xerea, the second tug for Boluda Towage and Salvage, after the first delivery and sea test of the VB Xaloc tug carried out at the end of September 2016.
On this occasion, public representatives attended this event such as the Director General of the Spanish Merchant Marine, Rafael Rodríguez and José Luis García Lena, Deputy Director of the Spanish Merchant Marine. Boluda Towage and Salvage representatives also attended the event and were represented by the President Joaquín Lozano, Antonio Bordils, the CEO and José Luis Gonzalez, the General Manager for Spain; The Maritime Captain of Passages, Josu Bilbao, and ANARE, Ángel Mato, General Director also attended the tests. The delegation was received at the Zamakona Shipyards, in the port of Pasajes by its president, Pedro Garaigordobil.
The “VB Xerea” was exposed to different tests, as the first tug delivered, of power, speed, manoeuvrability, performance and electronic systems, with a magnificent behaviour in all of them.
This two vessels as the rest of this series of the ten tugboats that Boluda Towage and Salvage has commissioned Zamakona Shipyards, have been designed by the Canadian prestigious naval architecture study of Robert Allan with the aim of rendering towing service in port, sea and escort. In addition, this new generation of tugboats presents interesting innovations as the increase of its shot to fixed point up to 80 tons, mainly because the propellers are guaranteed the supply of the maximum power and without mechanical losses intermediate. The boats will be 31.57 meters long and 12.8 meters beam, with a draft of 6.5 meters and are estimated to reach a speed of 13.5 knots. Also, they incorporate the Caterpillar Mak diesel engines, with a power of 7,500 BHP, Voith propulsion and deck machinery of Ibercisa.
Zamakona shipyards will continue to progress in the construction of the remaining eight tugs, in the same terms of quality and will be delivered progressively in a period of four years.

ASTILLEROS ZAMAKONA PASAIA S.L., finished last week the repair and maintenance services on drydock of the sanitary vessel of salvage and maritime assistance “JUAN DE LA COSA” of the SOCIAL INSTITUTE OF THE NAVY.
The vessel of 75mts LOA and 14 mts of breadth, has needed several works of repair and general maintenance related to the requirements of this kind of vessel activities indicated by the Captainship and Classification Society, as well as some check of the main equipment of the vessel, as azimuth propellers, shaft, or stabilizer fins.
It’s to be pointed out the full dissasembly of the propellers under the surveyance of the equipment maker’s technicians Wartsila.The elastic chocks of the main engines have been also changed and the whole shaft lines have been aligned again.
Finally, other scheduled maintenance and corrective tasks have been made out on the structure, piping and other equipment.
The relationship of our shipyards with this vessel through the years has been a constant. With this one, they already are 8 times that a vessel of the SOCIAL INSTITUTE OF THE NAVY contrates our services of drydocking and maintenance, this time at our shipyard of Pasaia, and we want to express them from these lines our gratitude for entrusting us. We hope to be able to provide them with this service again as well as the rest of their fleet.
The works have been made out in strait collaboration with the technical advisory of the owner BILBAO PLAZA MARITIMA SHIPPING, S.L. and we want to thank to their technicians their cooperation and professionalism along these weeks of intense activity.
ASTILLEROS ZAMAKONA PASAIA S.L. apart from building vessel of latest generation, makes also repairs and maintenance of vessels, both afloat and on drydock, for this purpose we counts with a floating dock with charge capacity of 4.900 tons for vessels until 100mts of LOA and 23 mts of breadth.

Recently, we’ve successfully carried out repairs and maintenance simultaneously on the two emblematic government owned hospital ships, Juan De La Cosa and Esperanza Del Mar.
It occurred that the two vessels were repaired simultaneously. The vessel Juan De La Cosa was repaired at Zamakona Pasaia yard at San Sebastian and the Esperanza Del Ma” at our yard, Repnaval, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Both projects were offered at public bidding and our proposals were the winners. We take great pride in being able to offer our services to these two emblematic vessels which are carrying out such important work in attending to the needs of our fishing men in the areas where they are working.

Ocean Marlin is the second vessel of three signed with Atlantic Offshore with HY820 design. She is now sailing to Stavanger and her naming ceremony will be next Wednesday, 13th August.
The vessel has been constructed in our Yard of Pasajes with the following main particulars:
