{"id":7493,"date":"2012-11-06T18:29:57","date_gmt":"2012-11-06T18:29:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.zamakonayards.com\/beta\/en\/?p=7493"},"modified":"2016-03-02T14:00:04","modified_gmt":"2016-03-02T14:00:04","slug":"consultation-on-marine-knowledge-2020-from-seabed-mapping-to-ocean-forecasting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zamakonayards.com\/en\/consultation-on-marine-knowledge-2020-from-seabed-mapping-to-ocean-forecasting\/","title":{"rendered":"CONSULTATION ON MARINE KNOWLEDGE 2020: from seabed mapping to ocean forecasting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">Last August 29<sup>th<\/sup>, the European Commission published the Green Paper \u201cMarine Knowledge 2020 from seabed mapping to ocean forecasting\u201d.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>This Green Paper opened a debate<\/em><\/span> on the best strategy for moving forward to accessible, sustainable digital mapping of European seabeds, as well as timely information on the present and past physical, chemical and biological state of the overlying water column and forecasts for the future, together with a process that helps Member States maximise the potential of their marine observation, sampling and surveying programmes.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">The European Commission, via Maritime Affairs, welcomes contributions from citizens, organisations and public authorities.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><strong>If you wish, you can also reply in an individual capacity<\/strong>. All contributions will be published on the internet although the names of those replying in an individual capacity will not be published. No contact details will be published.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">The Commission has set up a website for responses.
